Whenever someone asks me where I am from, immediately without hesitation, I answer “Cleveland,” when actually I live 30 miles away from the city that rocks. But who can blame me when Cleveland holds a part of who I am?
That is the great thing about our city: Even if you don’t live downtown or in the suburbs surrounding it nearby, Cleveland always makes you feel like you’re home. The community that dusts the dirt off our hands after a failure and tries harder the next time, the city that always believes in next year and the people who are proud to claim the title of “Clevelanders.” So why not wear that pride?
Are you looking for a place where you can get such Cleveland wear?
These are, in no particular order, my favorite places to go looking for some fresh duds.
GV Art + Design: In 2009, the company started its “Cleveland That I Love” campaign, which has become a staple. The original location is at 17128 Detroit Ave. in Lakewood.
CLE Clothing Co.: CLE Clothing Co. has come a long way from the two founders to now employing 50 Clevelanders between the three stores. Find it downtown at 342 Euclid Ave. (on the corner of East Fourth and Euclid Avenue).
Where I’m From: This company was started by Ohio University college roommates who shared a deep sense of pride for the state they call home. You can find storefronts at several locations including Great Lakes Mall in Mentor and SouthPark Mall in Strongsville.
Fresh Brewed Tees: Fresh Brewed is another company founded 2009. You can get your new shirt at its famous T-shirt truck that can be found at several Cleveland events, or you can find a wider selection online.
HOMAGE: Founded in 2007, HOMAGE turns back the clock with shout-outs to eclectic moments and personalities in sports, music and pop culture. You can find them at Crocker Park, 235 Main St., Westlake.
