Looking to get away from the cold air in Northeast Ohio to enjoy the cold air in Central Ohio? Consider heading to Columbus to check out the Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival.
The event presented by Tianyu Arts and Culture is at the Ohio Expo Center (717 E. 17th Ave.) and features “28 Chinese lantern installations using traditional Chinese methods and more than 15 000 LED lights in brilliant colors,” according to Ohio.org.
I attended the festival in 2016 and was really wowed by the intricate details and the colors. The photos I’m sharing here are gorgeous, but don’t do justice to the fabulous display.
Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. through Jan 7. Tickets are $15 for adults 18 and older; $10 for youth 17 and younger; $12 for military (ID required) and senior (65 and older). Kids 2 and younger are admitted free. A family four-pack (two adults, two youths) is $40.
