If you’re not old enough to remember it, know that “In Living Color” may have been the funniest show around in the early 1990s.
While the sketch-comedy show introduced the world to one Jim Carrey — and his Captain Kirk has never left me — the creation of brothers Keenen Ivory Wayans and Damon Wayans was more noteworthy for being a place for talented black performers to show their stuff.
Years later, three of its alumni, David Alan Grier, Tommy Davidson and another Wayans brother, Shawn, are teaming for “The Off Color Comedy Tour.” The stand-up show brings the funny to Northeast Ohio at 8 p.m. March 10 at the Hard Rock Rocksino Northfield Park.
A news release for the tour reminds us that Shawn Wayans’ film credits include “I’m Gonna Get You Sucka,” “Little Man” and “White Chicks,” that Grief was involved of late with the well-respected “The Carmichael Show” on NBC and that Davidson had a series of Showtime comedy specials.
