What: Weezer North American Tour 2018 tour featuring the Pixies and the Wombats
Where: Blossom Music Center, 1145 W. Steels Corners Road, Cuyahoga Falls
When: 7:30 p.m. July 11
Why you should go: Though I was only 3 when Weezer’s first album “Weezer” (aka the blue album) debuted, their music is still a huge influence on my musical taste today. I grew as their music grew, and in my opinion, Weezer is one of those bands that can’t be touched. As one of the most popular groups to emerge in the post-grunge alternative rock aftermath, the band received equal amounts of criticism and praise for their heavy guitar pop. In the course of a decade, they went from dorky alt-rock heroes to arena-filling stars. None of the members in the band are your typical rockers. Lead vocalist Rivers Cuomo was a Harvard University student before Weezer hit it big. Music was something for him to do with friends in the garage, playing along with favorite records when they weren’t studying. IMO, that is what sets them apart from the rest. Their unconventional rocker ways gives their music a quirky sense of humor and an endearing awkwardness that keeps their songs popular and gives their audience clever music videos. The band now has 11 albums under its belt. With opening bands the Pixies and the Wombats, this will be a concert you will be talking about all summer.
How much: Depending on whether you want to sit in the lawn or stand in the pit, tickets range from $20 to an estimated $250.
