Melt in Lakewood closing for renovations

If you’re a fan of Melt Bar and Grilled in the Lakewood area, prepare yourself to make a bit of a longer drive to get some grilled cheese in April.

The original location of the gourmet grilled cheese sandwich restaurant will close April 1 for a 26-day renovation, according to a news release. The grand reopening is planned for 11 a.m. April 27.

“The original location was opened on a very small budget and we only did what was necessary to get the doors open but the time is right to bring the original Melt location up to current service and guest experience expectations,” owner and founder Matt Fish said in a news release.

The renovations include a complete gut and rebuild of the kitchen, new first-floor bathrooms, a new host stand, a new server station, a new exterior back entrance, new signage, and new cosmetic updates throughout, Fish said in the release.

To get your Melt fix during the Lakewood location renovations, check out one of the other Cleveland-area locations in Cleveland Heights, Independence, Mentor or Avon.
