Scorchers in Lorain plans Cavaliers watch parties

A Lorain sports establishment is holding watch parties packed with deals as the LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers make their run toward a championship.

Dennis Castro, co-owner of Scorcher’s Casual Eatery & Draft House, 900 Broadway Ave. in Lorain, said there will be a good time during the game.

“We always do well when the Cavs play (in the) postseason,” Castro said.

The bar has been in downtown Lorain for 17 years and features 30 different beers on tap, Keno, three pool tables and dart boards.

The bar has deals on 23-ounce beers for $2.75 and various food specials during the game, and the kitchen will remain open late, he said.

“It’s always a good time here,” Castro said. “We have lots of TVs.”

When asked about the team’s current two-game deficit to the Golden State Warriors, Castro said with a laugh that the Cavs will surely win.

“LeBron’s going to score 50 points,” he continued, chuckling.

Castro said the bar also is a good after-party spot for those looking for some action after taking in a concert as part of the Rockin’ on the River at the Black River Landing.
