Are you looking for something to do this weekend? That’s free? And family-friendly? And fun? And full of color?
Look no further than Parade the Circle, the annual parade of art, music and community at University Circle.
The Cleveland Museum of Art event is June 9 at Wade Oval in University Circle. In addition to the parade, the fun includes entertainment, activities and food in Circle Village.
From CMA’s website:
For 29 years, the Cleveland Museum of Art has been bringing this FREE signature summer event to Greater Cleveland. University Circle comes alive with color, music, and art for all ages. International and national guest artists join Greater Cleveland artists, families, schools, and community groups in a spectacular display of bright costumes, giant puppets, stilt dancers, handmade masks, and colorful floats. Circle Village, which includes activities, entertainment, and food, is presented by University Circle Inc.
If you’ve never been to Parade the Circle, you’re in for a serious treat. The artists who craft the costumes, puppets, signs and floats do an amazing job. You’ll think every parade unit you see is the coolest, most creative thing — until you spot the next one moving up the street.
Circle Village events are happening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The parade steps off at noon.
Dress for the weather: The event goes on rain or shine.
Take some photos and videos, but don’t forget to take in the art with your other senses. It’s an event you won’t forget.
