Why you should go: According to Donniella Winchell, executive director of the Ohio Wine Producers Association, attendance at Vintage Ohio 2017 topped out around 16,000 attendees over the two-day event, rain and all.
“Vintage has developed a national reputation,” Winchell said. “People are coming from out of state — from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan…”
She added that Northeast Ohio’s ever-burgeoning tourism industry, replete with established and up-and-coming wineries, breweries, numerous restaurants, shops and entertainment venues, has been a boon to the event.
Some highlights Vintage Ohio has planned this year include a slate of demonstrations by celebrity chef Lisa Delgado, which are set to be streamed live on Facebook, a car show facilitated by Ganley Subaru, through which interested parties may browse new models and even take a test drive.
Winchell also said this year’s Vintage Ohio festival will boast the most product vendors the event has ever seen.
Among the other attractions offered at the Vintage Ohio Wine Festival are two stages featuring live music throughout both days. For a complete list of acts, visit the festival’s entertainment page. The event website also offers information about resources, including lodging, participating restaurants and their respective menus, exhibits, participating breweries and wineries.
Along with Lake Metroparks, the Ohio Wine Producers Association this year has partnered with Adams Reserve New York Sharp Cheddar, the American Wine Society, Giant Eagle, the Lake County Visitors Bureau, Lake Health, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Ohio Farm Bureau.
