Ashtabula County festival celebrates covered bridges

What: Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival

Where: East Jefferson and Market Street Jefferson 

When: The festival is always held the second week in October. This year it will take place Oct. 13-14. The celebration opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. both days.

Why you should go: Ashtabula County is home to 19 covered bridges, including the shortest and the longest in the United States. The mission of the Ashtabula County Covered Bridge Festival is to promote Ashtabula County and to help in the preservation of all of their covered bridges. By planning this annual family-oriented festival, the county is educating the public about its historic bridges while giving families a fun rural atmosphere to enjoy with crafts, entertainment and contests.
