Cleveland’s Pura Vida should delight vegans, carnivores alike

What: Pure Vida, a casual-upscale eatery serving new American style food.

Where: 170 Euclid Ave., Cleveland

When it’s open: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday; 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. Friday; 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Why you should go: If you’re looking for a tasteful and comfortable spot where almost anyone could find something terrific to eat, Pure Vida’s worth a strong look.

What you should eat/drink: The Strawberry Smasher ($9), with vodka, muddled strawberries, lime basil and ginger beer is a great refreshing cocktail.

The Korean Fried Chicken Wings ($12) make a great appetizer. They are coated in a Korean barbecue sauce and are accompanied by a sriracha aioli and some kimchi coleslaw. The Korean sauce is terrific and the zingy sriracha aioli is the perfect complement.

The USDA Prime Sirloin ($28), with blue cheese croquettes, garlic green means and A-1 marmalade makes a great entree. It is fantastic — tender, flavorful and really benefiting from its sauce.
