In a category of trying something new, a 2018 Greek Food Festival provides a great reason this weekend to visit St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lorain.

The festival features authentic Greek food, a gyro drive-thru, a room full of Greek pastries, Greek dancing and a silent auction.
Live music sets the stage for fun inside and out.
The festival is 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 7 and 8, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 9 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church at 2000 Tower Blvd in Lorain.

Free parking and admission are available, with a dining area to relax in a friendly-family atmosphere.
We hear locals buy dinners and freeze them for home-cooked meals all year. What a delicious idea!
And the sampler platter is excellent.
