What: Eric Church: Double Down Tour
Where: Quicken Loans Arena, 1 Center Ct, Cleveland 44115
When: 8 p.m. April 19 and 20
Why you should go: Being country music’s “bad boy” isn’t the simplest job to live up to, but Eric Church seems to handle the responsibility with ease. The North Carolina-bred singer has been at the front of the game since his debut album “Sinners Like Me” in 2006. Six albums and many tours later, Church is living up to his reputation. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live, and you can trust me when I say that he knows how to throw a party. It is clear to see that Church loves what he does when you see him perform.
Church’s style of country music keeps all fans of the genre happy and coming back. From the first album to this year’s release of “Desperate Man,” every song has a country sound with a rock feel. It is hard to find a pop-country Church song.
Church is my favorite artist by far because his lyrics have more effort behind them, and the man can play guitar. If you are always looking for a concert to go to, I highly recommend this one. He is the best show I have ever seen.
You can count me in for this one. See you in April.

My song pick: It isn’t like me to suggest a song to you that is one of the artist’s singles, and I am pretty much in love with Church’s first three albums. But “Record Year” off the album “Mr. Misunderstood” is incredibly close to my heart. It came out in a tough time in my life, and music was always there for me — and that is exactly what this song is about. It is well-written, and if you are anything like me, music is something you can lean on.
