Halloween Fair offers family-friendly and spooky fun at Carlisle Reservation

Halloween is a big deal each year at Lorain County Metro Parks Carlisle Reservation in LaGrange.

Check out what is planned this year at the Halloween Fair.

The family-friendly trail opens 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., with a spooky trail open 7 to 10 p.m., on Oct. 12-13, 19-20, and 26-27.

The cost is $3 per person, with children ages 3 years and younger admitted free. Each person who pays will receive a hand stamp entitling them to unlimited train rides and trail visits. Expect a queue line for the trail because it is quite popular. Check out a map of the Halloween Fair Trail.

Parking is available at Carlisle Visitor Center at 12882 Diagonal Road in LaGrange, or at Duck Pond Picnic Area at 12550 Diagonal Road, LaGrange. A shuttle with be available from and to the duck pond area. Metro parks staff say this is the easiest way to get in and out of the event.

Also,  Friends of Lorain County Metro Parks offer a midway of games for youngsters. Tickets cost 50 cents each, or 12 for $5.

And since it’s a Halloween Fair, fair food is available for purchase, such as Italian sausage, bourbon chicken, funnel cakes, chicken paprikash, cheese and chili fries, popcorn, hot chocolate, apple cider, wraps and smoothies.
