What: Salt+ (the plus sign is silent, by the way) specializes in composed small, shareable plates and craft cocktails.

Why you should go: The restaurant makes it a point to try to use locally sourced food as much as possible — the seasons affect the menu, which changes every 10 weeks. The owners try to create a place where folks would be more interested in food and conversation than staring at electronic devices.
What you should eat/drink: Salt+’s Dewey Finn ($13) is a playful concoction of Woodford Double Oaked bourbon, Maurin, Dolin Blanc vermouth, Aztec chocolate bitters and caramel lace. The lamb is a juicy and memorably seasoned entree. The Jeff Spicoli ($14) boasts an unusual list of ingredients: oven-roasted sweet corn-infused Oyo ghost rye, sweet corn shrub, brown sugar syrup and something listed simply as “Applewood smoked.”
