Thanksgiving dinner on a sandwich and lots – LOTS – of bacon

Melt Bar & Grilled has two sandwich specials available for the month of November, but pay attention to the dates and mark your calendar so you don’t miss out.

Through Nov. 21, you can order what’s basically Thanksgiving dinner on a sandwich: The New Bomb Turkey has roasted carved turkey, mom’s sage stuffing, roasted butternut squash, homemade turkey gravy, muenster cheese and cranberry orange jam. Melt recommends adding roasted garlic and chive potatoes to the sandwich.

(My two cents: If you’re celebrating Thanksgiving Day with all the trimmings, maybe you’ll want to stop in to eat this one sooner rather than later. You don’t want to spoil your appetite for Mom’s actual sage stuffing.)

From Nov. 23 through 30, the 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon Melt is back. This year you have only one week to enjoy the bacon-on-bacon-on-bacon-on-bacon-on-bacon-on-bacon goodness.

The sandwich features hickory smoked bacon, black pepper crusted slab-cut bacon, maple bourbon glazed smoked pork belly, Italian pancetta, herb cream cheese with bacon bits, in-house made bacon infused mayonnaise, sharp cheddar, fresh romaine and sliced tomato.

I’m bummed the 6 Degrees Of Kevin Bacon Melt isn’t available for a full month, as it was last year, because I’m going to have to make a tough decision between waiting until the end of the month to stop in for one, or going in before Thanksgiving for the New Bomb Turkey. Trying to decide if I could make room for TWO Melt visits in the same month as Thanksgiving …
