Ohio Star Theater‘s holiday season is underway. Here’s a look at what’s going on at the Sugarcreek playhouse:
“Christmas in Paradise”
This new musical is an inspirational and uplifting journey that reveals unexpected treasures in unlikely places, according to a news release. Thrift store owners Matthew and Mary are facing challenges while caring for an elderly and ailing parent, as Christmas Day approaches. Their trials lead them to a place they never thought possible. The musical runs through Dec. 29.
The King’s Brass

Tim Zimmerman and The King’s Brass will perform at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8. For more than 20 years, The King’s Brass has performed over 100 concerts each season, according to the release. The brass ensemble plays a wide variety of music, and this concert will have a Christmas theme to lift your spirits.
“It’s a Wonderful Life”
It isn’t the holidays without this holiday classic. “It’s a Wonderful Life” will be staged as a live radio broadcast at 1 p.m. Dec. 8.
“The Nutcracker”
Holmes Center for the Arts will present the holiday classic ballet “The Nutcracker” at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 and 3 p.m. Dec. 16.
Party With a Purpose
Ohio Star Theater is ending one year and celebrating the start of another during the Party With a Purpose. This year’s party features pianist and singer Gordon Mote, and illusionist Jared Hall. Show times are 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. Dec. 31, and each show will include three hours of entertainment and end in a New Year’s Eve celebration.
