The Lake Effect Concert Band will present a free concert of classic transcriptions and band originals at Harvey High School, 200 W. Walnut Ave, in Painesville, according to a news release.
Show time is 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 29.
The Lake Effect Concert Band is a community-based adult ensemble that performs under the sponsorship of the Snowbelt Musical Arts Association, the release continued. The SMAA, under the direction of conductor and educator Greg Hillis, is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding opportunities for people of all ages in the Snowbelt region of Northeast Ohio to perform and enjoy musical activities.
The concert will feature Suzanne Taber as clarinet soloist in the Rondo from Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto. The band will also perform Armida Overture by Franz Joseph Haydn, the Finale from William Tell Overture by Gioacchino Rossini, as well as works by Samuel Barber, Robert Jager, Vincent Persichetti, and Dmitri Shostakovich.
The concert will take place in a handicap-accessible auditorium and there is ample free parking. This family-friendly event is free and open to all. Donations are always appreciated. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/
