Rob Lowe to tell ‘Stories I Only Tell My Friends’ at Playhouse Square

Maybe you heard Rob Lowe on the most recent episode of Marc Maron’s popular podcast talking about how he once turned down what likely would have been the lucrative “Grey’s Anatomy” role of Dr. Derek Shepherd — aka “McDreamy.”

One might expect more fun topics to come up when the veteran actor (“The West Wing,” “About Last Night,” “Tommy Boy”) brings one-man show “Stories I Only Tell My Friends: LIVE!” to Playhouse Square’s Connor Place on May 30. The show is based on memoirs “Stories I Only Tell My Friends” and “Love Life.”

Says a news release from Playhouse Square:

From the Brat Pack to ‘The West Wing’ to ‘Parks and Rec’ and beyond, ‘Stories I Only Tell My Friends: LIVE!’ is packed with witty fun and one-of-a-kind insights spanning an iconic career.

The release also catches us up on the more recent work by Lowe, who in 2015 saw

Lowe recently wrapped the third season of the CBS medical drama ‘Code Black.’ He created and produced ‘The Lowe Files,’ an acclaimed non-scripted adventure series for A&E in which he and his two sons searched out unsolved mysteries. Lowe is currently directing and starring in the remake of the four-time Academy Award nominated film ‘The Bad Seed.’ Currently Rob can be seen hosting his weekly FOX-TV mental game show ‘Mental Samurai.’

Tickets for the Cleveland show range from $40 to $85, with a VIP meet-and-greet package available for $250. Get tickets and more information from this Playhouse Square page.
