Have a purrfect time at Cinco de Meow CLE

What: Fourth annual Cinco de Meow CLE

Where: Around the Corner Bar Saloon and Cafe, 18616 Detroit Ave., Lakewood

When:  May 4, 2019, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Why you should go:  The name of the event is awesome.

Plus, it’s a fundraiser for grassroots cat rescues that includes all-you-can-eat taco bar, raffle baskets, a 50/50 raffle, limited edition event T-shirt, a chance at winning VIP tickets to meet Lil BUB in October, and a $1,000 Visa gift card. This event also includes lots of give-aways for both the cat and dog lover.  Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options will be available.

Three years ago a small group of volunteers from two different cat rescues (Lucky Paws and Tails From The City), led by volunteer Leah Kubiak, joined forces to put on a fundraiser. Last year’s event hosted more than 400 guests and raised just shy of $23,000.

Cinco de Meow has become the major fundraising avenue for Tails From The City and nearly completely covers the cost to maintain food and medical care for one feral cat route (which feeds dozens of cats daily) each year.

Tails From The City rescues and adopts more than 500 cats/kittens annually and in 2018, opened the doors to its Adoption and Activity Center.

Lucky Paws rescues and adopts about 300 cats/kittens annually as well as cares for dozens of feral cat colonies throughout Cleveland’s west side and The Flats.
