Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals coming to Jacob’s Pavilion

What: Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals

Where: Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica, 2014 Sycamore St, Cleveland, OH 44113

When: May 20, 7:30 pm

Why you should go: Anderson .Paak’s new-age hip-hop sound is pleasant to hear in an increasingly overflowing genre. His latest album “Oxnard” received mostly positive reviews, headlining with his single “Tints” featuring Grammy- and Pulitzer Prize-winning artist Kendrick Lamar. Jacobs Pavilion tends to host excellent hip-hop shows in the past as Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals look to make their mark on Cleveland’s signature venue on the west bank of the Cuyahoga River.

How much: Tickets are on sale here.

How to get more info: More information is available on the event’s Facebook page and on Jacobs Pavilion’s website.

My song pick: 6 Summers showcases Anderson .Paak’s lyrical ability as well as his own political stances. In this song, he calls out President Donald Trump over a shifting instrumental, possibly meant to reflect the rapid era shift from President Obama to Trump. Pulling no punches, Anderson .Paak delivers powerfully in a track that both relaxes and invigorates at the same time.
