The largest vegan festival in the Midwest, the 2019 Cleveland VegFest, is set to take place from 11 am to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland.
Presented by the Cleveland Vegan Society, more than 15,000 visitors from Northeast Ohio and beyond are expected to attend this day long, 100% vegan festival, according to a news release. The 2018 VegFest was in the top five for attendance of all events at the Convention Center last year.
More from the release:
The day begins with a yoga session, and will continue with a wide range of activities, including food demos, live music, interactive kids’ activities, a huge variety of delicious food to try and buy at the Cleveland Water Vegan Food Court, and shopping galore in the Cruelty Free Marketplace. There will be movie screenings throughout the day in the Cleveland Cinemas Screening Room, and speakers from Cleveland and across the world, covering every aspect of veganism, from animal rights and social justice, to the environmental impacts of animal agriculture, to health, wellness and fitness.
“The vegan food options this year are off the charts – we’re talking sushi and wings and ribs and tacos – not to mention the desserts. This is food that even hardcore meat and dairy enthusiasts will love,” said Exhibitors Chair, Cori Knol. “Our challenge will be managing lines and making sure vendors bring enough food for the hungry crowds.”
