Enjoy creating with arts-themed programs at Lorain Historical Society

Skilled artists associated with Firelands Association for the Visual Arts are providing a new arts-themed program series at Lorain Historical Society.

And the venues are beautiful, so if you’ve never been to the renovated Carnegie Center, a former library, or the detail-rich Moore House, pack some gear and head out to meet artsy folk and learn a new skill.

The series includes four workshops:

  • Foundation Paper Piecing Quilting 101 is noon to 3 p.m. June 15 at the Carnegie Center at 329 W. 10th St. in Lorain. Cost is $10.
  • Weaver’s Day is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 at the Carnegie Center. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for youth students ages 6-21, and free for those younger than 6.
  • Plein Air Painting/Drawing workshop is 10 to noon Aug. 17 at the Moore House at 309 W. 5th St. in Lorain. Cost is $10.
