Vermilion Woollybear Festival draws a predictive crowd

Furry friends and activities will pack Vermilion streets 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 6 in downtown Vermilion.

Planners expect more than 100,000 people for the annual event which began 47 years ago in Birmingham.

Woollybears race, and people dress up as woollybears. The Woollybear Parade begins at 1:30 p.m.

And be there for the final woollybear race and weather prediction based on the critter’s colors at 5 p.m. on the main stage.
