Marc Maron is not so synonymous with his hugely popular podcast, “WTF With Marc Maron,” that you almost have to remind yourself he is, first and foremost, and comedian.
He’ll perform his stand-up Jan. 30 at Agora Cleveland.
A little background on Maron, courtesy of a news release provided by the Agora:
For over thirty years, Marc Maron has been writing and performing comedy for print, stage, radio, online and television. Best known for his hit landmark podcast, WTF with Marc Maron, he has interviewed iconic personalities such as Conan O’Brien, Robin Williams, Keith Richards, Ben Stiller, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lorne Michaels and former US President Barack Obama. It has become a worldwide phenomenon: averaging six million downloads each month, with over 500 million lifetime downloads.
The release goes on to remind us that “Maron” also can be seen in the solid Netflix comedy-drama series “GLOW,” about professional female wrestlers in the 1980s.
Speaking of Netflix, you can get a good sample of fairly recent Maron stand-up by watching 2017 special “Too Real.”
