It’s been a slow week for concert announcements.
(Popular country act Lady Antebellum will be at Blossom Music Center June 25 with guests Jake Owen and Maddie & Tae, and you can get your tickets here when they go on sale at 10 a.m. May 13. Consider yourself caught up.)
This gives us a chance to highlight a really exciting show announced last month during a crowded week: The Weeknd, with guests Sabrina Claudio and Don Toliver, will rock Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in downtown Cleveland at 7 p.m. Aug. 28 — which, we’ll note, is a Fridy. (See what we did there?)
Perhaps you caught the golden-voiced Canadian singer-songwriter-producer March 7 on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”? Man, new single “Blinding Lights” is a banger.
That track is from the album “After Hours,” due to drop March 20. The tour, of course, is in support of said album, the star’s fourth full-length studio album. (He released an excellent EP, “My Dear Melancholy,” in 2018.)
Says a news release from event promoter Live Nation:
The After Hours Tour will showcase state of the art production and one of the most innovative stage designs to date, containing the most LED lights and video for an arena show. Produced by Live Nation, the 57-date tour will hit cities across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and France with support from Sabrina Claudio and Don Toliver in the US.
Tickets already are on sale. Try to find some that fit your budget here.
